Development of a scalable, inexpensive, minimally instrumented, flexible, and multiplexed diagnostic tool for viral screening using microscopic circuits, adaptable to emerging viruses, with potential for high throughput and ease of use in pandemic situations.
Description
This project aims to develop a novel screening diagnostic based on mass-manufacturable microscopic circuits that detect viruses, enabling widespread testing during future pandemics. The diagnostic will consist of microscopic circuits containing field effect transistors with antigen-specific receptors, powered by light, and capable of multiplexed detection. The system will interface with a handheld device, such as a cellphone, for immediate results.
