This project investigates the mechanisms by which Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) induces actin pedestal formation on intestinal epithelial cells, focusing on the role of the host protein IRTKS in bacterial attachment and actin assembly. The study aims to define how IRTKS promotes bacterial attachment and its contribution to actin pedestal assembly and motility independent of the bacterial effector EspFU, using advanced microscopy and biochemical methods.
