This proposal is designed to uncover the role of neutrophils in the age-driven decline in vaccine efficacy against Streptococcus pneumoniae, the leading cause of community-acquired bacterial pneumonia in the elderly. This will allow identification of novel targets to boost memory responses in the elderly.
