Award to University of Utah to develop and validate the Electronic Grip Gauge for rehabilitating fine sensorimotor hand function in stroke patients, funded from 2026 to 2029.

Description

This project aims to validate and determine the effectiveness of the Electronic Grip Gauge (EGG), an instrumented “fragile” object designed to quantify and rehabilitate fine sensorimotor hand function in stroke patients. The EGG is a handheld wireless device embedded with sensors to track grip force, load force, acceleration, and object position. The project includes clinical trials and a scientific training plan at the University of Utah Neurorobotics Lab.
