Description
This project is a patient preference trial comparing extended-release buprenorphine (XR-B) and sublingual buprenorphine (SL-B) treatments via telemedicine among individuals leaving jail and re-entering the community. The study involves treatment initiation in jail and continuation at community pharmacies, aiming to improve treatment retention, reduce illicit opioid use, and understand implementation factors. It is the first large-scale telemedicine trial of buprenorphine in this context and includes development of implementation toolkits for jails and pharmacies.
