### Description

This project develops and validates a novel joint injectable anti-inflammatory sustained drug delivery system in canines presenting to the clinic with naturally occurring knee injury (cruciate ligament disease). The study aims to advance this technology towards human clinical implementation and validate the safety and therapeutic efficacy of IL-1Ra and IL-6 receptor inhibitor delivered from mechanically activated microcapsules compared to joint injections of the free factors in a preclinical model.
