Description

This project aims to engineer probiotic bacteria, E. coli Nissle 1917 (EcN), to identify and target precancerous lesions in colorectal cancer (CRC). The focus is on characterizing EcN colonization and immune response in a tamoxifen-inducible mouse model of CRC, and designing immunomodulatory EcN strains for CRC prevention and interception. The goal is to develop probiotic-based immunotherapies to prevent and halt CRC progression.
