Award for genomic research to identify molecular drivers of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias using whole genome sequencing in diverse populations in the USA and Brazil.

Description

This project aims to identify genes and proteins that drive common Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD) pathologic traits by leveraging whole genome sequencing (WGS) data from diverse cohorts in the USA and Brazil, including admixed populations. The study will generate WGS on additional participants, perform admixture mapping, determine telomere length associations, and explore rare variants and mitochondrial DNA links to AD/ADRD traits.
