Hydronovo, Inc. received funding to develop Ceviginate (CVGN8), an injectable hydrogel aimed at regenerating salivary glands damaged by radiation by reactivating stem cells. The project supports IND-enabling studies for FDA approval to improve treatment for xerostomia.

Description

Hydronovo’s mission is to drive tissue regeneration by restoring crosstalk between the nerve and organ-specific stem cells. Their innovative product, Ceviginate (CVGN8), is an injectable neuromimetic hydrogel that restores salivary gland function by regenerating saliva-producing cells via reactivation of stem cells. This SBIR application supports critical IND-enabling studies to translate the product through the 505(b)2 regulatory pathway into clinical use to improve quality of life and survivorship of patients suffering from xerostomia.
