Description

Mutations in chromatin regulatory genes frequently cause cancer. This is true of the highly lethal childhood rhabdoid tumor, which is caused by the loss of SMARCB1, a subunit of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex. The project aims to investigate a transcription factor that is essential in RTs, interacts with a repressive chromatin-regulatory complex, and functions as a transcriptional activator. The research will explore the mechanism of this transcription factor and its role in SMARCB1 loss, using genome-wide approaches and cell line models.
