Description

This project seeks to generate new insights regarding the early identification and prevention of adult coronary heart disease (CHD). It focuses on infants born small for gestational age (SGA) and their increased risk for CHD and cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality later in life. The study will evaluate biomarkers from prenatal and neonatal serum samples to understand mechanisms such as placental dysfunction, fetal hypoxia, and metabolic programming.
