This project aims to explore the role of vitamin D deficiency in utero in programming obesity and insulin resistance, and how antenatal vitamin D supplementation can mitigate these effects. The study involves clinical trials, genetic and epigenetic analysis, and biomarker identification to develop early screening protocols for veterans at risk of obesity and diabetes.
